Change and uncertainty have been some of the few constants we experienced this past year through the COVID-19 pandemic. As vaccinations are readily available in most areas and many restrictions are lifted, we can begin to look forward to the coming new school year with significantly more clarity than last year.
These months of online or hybrid learning have given everyone an opportunity to reflect on the policies and structures that were working and not working about pre-pandemic academic life, so when we do return, we’ll return better.
Many organizations, ourselves included, are still ironing out the details on what life will look like for us post-pandemic. To help our community discern the next steps that are best for them, we invited local higher education and business leaders to join a panel discussion around this topic. While the focus was on corporate spaces, there is a discernable correlation to higher education institutions.
Colleges and universities are often one of the largest employers in their community with a significant portion of their space devoted to offices. While the campus’ primary focus is on students, attracting and retaining exceptional faculty and staff is key to delivering on an institution’s academic and social promises.
