LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville architecture and engineering firm displayed original blueprints Wednesday of Churchill Downs' Twin Spires ahead of the 151st Kentucky Derby.

Luckett & Farley showed off original blueprints of the iconic Twin Spires, which were designed by the firm in 1894. The designs include original drawings for the spires, the original start and finish line, the old paddock and the stables.

"To make sure the city of Louisville feels pride in the drawings, we here at Luckett & Farley are proud of them," said Boz Lindgren with Luckett & Farley. "It's part of our culture and part of our fabric here in the city of Louisville and the state of Kentucky. It's something that, when the world turns their eye toward Kentucky for the year, it's a nice moment to share those types of things with the community." 

The firm keeps the historic drawings in a climate controlled vault space off-site. 

"Keeping your roots in place is an important place for any part of our culture," Lindgren said.

Luckett & Farley has operated in Louisville for nearly 175 years.

The 151st Kentucky Derby will be May 3 at the historic horse racing track in Louisville.
