Chickasaw Park focused on a series of improvements to provide increase programmatic activities and accessibility to Chickasaw Pond by implementing a portion of the park’s larger master plan.
This revitalization was realized through recreational and educational pursuits, like improved fishing access at the ponds edge, a new boardwalk for pond access including canoe launch, and an educational component for area schools to utilize on field-trips. Historically, this pond contained pollutants that prevented swimming and fishing. Luckett & Farley created educational materials for community forums to explain the mitigation of the pond and promote its new features. Additionally, we created a phased flexible project schedule to accommodate the availability of funding, public funding, grants, and volunteers.
