ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Luckett & Farley provided architecture, engineering, and interior design (to IHG standards) for a new 128-room, five-story Extended Stay Candlewood Suites Hotel. Each room has a kitchenette with either one or two bedrooms.
This main construction material for this building CLT panels (cross-laminated timbers). We chose this product because it offers the structural simplicity needed for cost-effective building with additional benefits such as fast installation, reduced waste, improved thermal performance, and design versatility. We also selected a mixture of locally-sourced stone and various shades of stucco to elevate the building’s aesthetics.
Our client asked us to design the hotel to to LEED Silver specifications but did not pursue certification.
